I am getting to know my students, so I have been asking them questions all week. Here are some of my favorite answers below.
QUESTION: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SANDWICH AND WHY?
1. BLT - Bacon from a pig, lettuce from the ground, tomatoes from da vine.
2. My favorite is a ham and cheese sandwich. I like it on white bread. One slice of ham and one of cheese. I don't like the crust. I have braces and it's hard to eat.
3. The best sandwich:
A) 2 pieces of lightly toasted white bread (Sara Lee)
B) Romaine lettuce (crunchy and crisp)
C) Tomato (thick cut and firm, garden fresh)
D) Slightly burnt pan-fried bacon from [a local store])
E) Kraft Mayo (liberal)
This is a delicious combination of sweet and salty, wet and dry, crisp and soft. It contains all food groups and thus comprises my entire necessities for the day. Perfection in every bite.
4. My favorite sandwich is a turkey sandwich on wheat bread. I like turkey and the wheat bread makes it healthier. I put mayo, cheese, and lettuce.
5. Roast beef with melted cheddar cheese. Arby's is amazing. I get a roast beef sandwich and Mountain Dew. FREE REFILLS!!!
6. Ham and cheese sandwich. Tastes good on a summer day with Kool Aid.
7. Grilled turkey sandwich with Carving Board turkey and white bread OR a grilled pork pattie on a Hawaiian sweet bun. [The] textures on both let me eat them without vomiting for one. Grilled pork patties and turkey are delicious and I love how sweet buns taste with pork patties.
8. Favorite sandwich The Strip Club from [local restaurant]. Ham, turkey, salami, bacon, chicken strips!! Lettuce, tomatoe, American cheeze, mozarela cheese sticks, mayo, and ranch dip, toasted.
9. Butter seasoned with season salt, onion powder, and garlic salt. Put it in the broiler and toast it. The sprinkle cheese and melt it. Then put cold turkey on it. It's amazing. It's so flavorful and I don't like other people making sandwiches. And it's the only one I like.
10. Italian. I like to have salami, Virginia brand ham, and pepperoni with Italian bread, with mayo and a little bit of brown spicy mustard, with ice burg lettuce, with mozarrela and Colby jack cheese. It is my favorite because it tastes the best.
11. I'm not really a sandwich guy. But one time we went to Florida and it was a 12-hour drive. We drove through Alabama and saw some spacey stuff but that doesn't matter. But I got a sandwich at Subway on the way home that I didn't like.
QUESTION: IF YOU COULD HAVE ANY SUPERPOWER, WHAT WOULD IT BE AND WHY?
1. I would be a mind reader and put thoughts in minds. You could know the truth in any situation and be able to be totally secretive with conversations. Like in boring physics classes.
2. I would have a backpack with whatever I needed inside of it. It would be able to hold things larger than itself. I would want this because I'm always worried about forgetting something.
3. If I had a superpower it would be the ability to manipulate matter and space-time. then I would be able to create anything from nothing. I would be able to travel transdimensionally by manipulating space and time. I could walk through walls, have super strength, telekinesis, telepathy, and would be an equal to God. I would exert complete and total dominance over all creation. I would remain anonymous until [student's name] takes over the multi-verse!
4. I would want the power to make people disappear because some of them are annoying and have bad shoes.
5. Super strength because it's the most practical.
6. To be invisible. I like to observe.
QUESTION: WOULD YOU RATHER LIVE IN PAGAN ROME, CHRISTIAN ROME, OR BARBARIAN TIMES?
1. I'd rather be a barbarian because they ate a lot and if they didn't like something they'd fight about it.
2. I would live in Germanic tribes. I would eat a bunch of meat! And beat everyone up because I would be awesome.
3. Pagan Rome because I am Christian and I love it.
4. Barbarian because they get to fight and rock those sweet beards. (Written by a girl.)
5. Christian Rome because barbarians are gross and hairy. (Also written by a girl.)
QUESTION: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CEREAL AND WHY?
1. Cocoa Puffs because of their chocolatey goodness and it doubles as an ice cream topping.
2. Cereal is nasty! Because it tastes like poop!
3. Rice Krispies because they talk to me.
4. McGriddle. My hands smell like pancakes all day!!!
5. Count Chocula - bite size marshmallow bats with a vampire on the box. What more could you want?
6. Crunch Berries because the high sugar content gives me my morning jolt.
7. I love bacon chocolate chip cookies. Why because they are awesome. Nom nom.
